Mindful Monday.

Well, well, well…

April has finally come and is halfway over! I cannot believe how quickly this year is going this far! It has also been a while since I have made time to write anything down. It has been quite a busy time with work, both jobs that is, and planning my upcoming little romp through part of Europe.

With that being said, I am still playing a bit of catch-up with podcasts, tv shows, as well as movies and audiobooks. Today is just that, a little bit of catchup. I do have a fair chunk of time on my drives to and from work, so I have been able to catch up on a couple podcasts and have just finished an audiobook today!

This book was recommended to me from a friend and new member to my book club; she told me that she pleasantly surprised by the book and thought that I might enjoy it. Now, the book cover itself is quite eye-catching and I am a bit of a novice when it comes to trap music, so I knew that it would be a whole new world for me!

I really became engrossed in this book. No matter how many coworkers laughed when I told them what I was currently reading, I needed to know more about his life, his troubles and his triumphs.

Throughout the whole book, you find yourself rooting for Radric Davis, aka Gucci Mane, no matter what was happening. I couldn’t stop listening – I needed to know what happened since I didn’t used to pay much mind to music news and current events. I just wanted the best for him; needed him to overcome his problems and better himself.

I won’t give away any of the details of the book because that is for you to read or listen to to find out more! I thought that Guy Lockard, the narrator, did such a wonderful job of bringing this story to life, but I fear now that I’ll hear his voice in my mind when I see Gucci Mane moving forward not that is necessarily a terrible thing.

If you are in need of a new book to pick up, I would recommend this one. If nothing else, you’ll learn that anyone can better themselves if they put their mind to it!

What’s next you ask? The complete opposite:

I did really enjoy this movie and cannot wait to dive a bit deeper into this tale!

What are you reading or listening to? Any recommendations that you just couldn’t put down?
