I am still playing catch-up with my usual day-to-day items, but don’t think I could forget about Murder Monday.
As my stacks of books get higher and my list of podcasts and movies get longer, I find myself in need of a boost to help trudge through these menial tasks before I can really sit back and relax/crack open up a new book, show or podcast…
Luckily, there’s a soundtrack for that! Everyone has their soundtrack for different moods and, me being me, I found one with relation to murder.
This has been an especially strong year for women to say the least! With that being said, I am a huge fan of Charlize Theron and hearing that she was going to be in an action-packed, stunt-filled movie well, let’s just say, it peaked my interest immediately. It felt like I had to wait years for it to finally come out!
And then it did! One of my closest friends whom I spent a tremendous amount of time going to movies and brunch with (on a weekly basis when we had lived in the same city) was visiting and we had decided to see Atomic Blonde. I now have the graphic novel that inspired it on my to-read list.
This movie was full of every emotion: sadness, guilt, justice, vengeance/revenge, happiness, humor – you name it! But, and not to say that the movie wasn’t a standout by itself, the soundtrack was thoroughly picked out by the composer. It was a perfect selection for the period and locations it took place in and it can really rev one up!
You hear one song: you picture her walking with her confident and sure-footed swagger. You hear another: you see a car chase. It was really quite well done. Needless to go on, it’s keeping me perked up and getting things done!
It may seem as simple a storyline as trying to solve a murder, but there are plenty more layers to this tale. Who are your real friends? Who are you rooting for? The good guy or the bad guy? Do you even know who is who? Things are not always as simple as you think.
Don’t even get me started on the costuming! What a vision! However, we can save that for another tea time chat.
